Planning for the Cronulla Foreshore Master Plan
🌊 Help us shape the future of the Cronulla Foreshore 🌊
Cronulla’s beaches and foreshore are at the heart of life in Sutherland Shire. In fact, they’re world famous!
Whether you live here or visit regularly, the foreshore is a favourite destination for walking, swimming, spending quality time with your family or simply catching up with friends.
The Cronulla foreshore area covers around 7.4km of coastline, from Don Lucas Reserve to Tonkin Park, including beaches, parks, open spaces, pathways and connections.
It is important that the foreshore continues to be a place we all love and enjoy. To make sure of this, we are developing the Cronulla Foreshore Master Plan to guide investment in coastal public infrastructure over the next 30 years.
About the master plan
The master plan will look at the public spaces, facilities and infrastructure along the foreshore and how they work together, setting clear priorities for future upgrades and investment. It will provide an integrated vision and staged action plan to enhance and manage the area over time.
Our focus is on how the foreshore works overall. This is not about immediate change, while some improvements may follow in the shorter term, others will be delivered over time as priorities and funding are confirmed. It is about setting a clear long-term direction and making sure any works are planned and delivered consistently.
📢 Get involved
The master plan will be shaped by the community. Our first step is focused on understanding how the foreshore is used today, what people value, and what could be improved in the future.
This is a once‑in‑a‑generation opportunity to plan the future of the foreshore — setting a clear, long‑term direction informed by community voices, as our area grows and changes.
