Council recently converted 253 unlimited time parking spaces to three hours timed parking on weekends and public holidays between 8am and 6pm along the beachfront at North Cronulla. The change to timed parking was run as a trial from October 2022 to April 2023.
Cronulla beachfront is busy, particularly on weekends during the swimming season. Access to parking is an important part of visiting the beach for all in our community. By increasing the turnover of parking, drivers should find it easier to find a parking space. Timed parking is a great way to do this, and is an approach used in our retail centres and other busy areas.
Parking turnover refers to how often vehicles use a parking space. It means more people have opportunity to access a parking space and the services or facilities nearby.
Have your say
The trial has now finished and we would like to hear from our community about your thoughts on the timed parking.
You can provide feedback until 2 June 2023:

We will keep interested members of our community updated of progress. For more information please contact the Traffic and Public Domain Team on 9710 0498.
