Draft Roads and Freight Strategy and Implementation Plan

active transport, public transport

We’ve drafted a Roads and Freight Strategy and Implementation Plan that outlines how Council’s roads and traffic assets, and freight tasks will be managed over the next 10 years.

As our population grows, so does the movement of people and goods on our road network.

Our community has told us that traffic congestion and related road safety issues are key concerns for our community. Council is committed to providing a safe and efficient road network that can be shared by all users within Sutherland Shire.

Our areas of focus in the draft Strategy are:

  1. Road Safety: Initiatives to reduce road trauma and make roads a safer place for all road users.
  2. Movement: To promote efficient movement of people and goods across the Sutherland Shire road network.
  3. Partnerships: Identify and foster key relationships for the success of this Strategy.

This Strategy is one of four interrelated strategies that Council has developed as part of our overarching Integrated Transport Strategy. You can view the draft Roads and Freight Strategy and Implementation Plan here.
