Draft Parking Strategy

Consultation has concluded

As our population grows, so does the number of vehicles on local roads and demand for parking.

To address this growing demand in Sutherland Shire and to support a sustainable integrated transport system, Council has prepared a Draft Parking Strategy.

The Strategy provides a framework for safe and equitable parking opportunities to support the local economy, while encouraging alternative transport options to reduce a reliance on cars.

The Strategy aims to:

  • support a balance of parking opportunities for all users, including residents, businesses, commuters and visitors
  • optimise the use of existing parking before introducing additional parking
  • encourage the use of alternative transport options such as active (walking and cycling) and public transport
  • adapt to evolving parking trends and technology to improve parking experiences.
