Draft Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Framework

Council has developed a draft Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Framework and we’re inviting your feedback. It sets out Council’s approach and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in our workplace and community.

The DEI Framework is underpinned by targeted strategies and plans for each diverse group within our community, such as the Disability Inclusion Action Plan, Reconciliation Action Plan and Multicultural Action Plan (to be drafted). We have been listening to feedback from our community as we develop these plans and hosting workshops with staff to help inform the overarching Framework.

DEI Principles

The Framework has a set of guiding principles that express what we stand for and how these principles are reflected across our plans and initiatives, so that all people in our community feel respected, safe and valued.

We are seeking feedback from our community on the draft DEI Framework until 30 March 2026:

Next steps

Feedback will be reviewed and used to finalise the draft Framework, before it is presented to Councillors for review and adoption by mid-2026. We’ll keep our community updated on progress.
