Concept Design: Gunnamatta Park Playground, Cronulla

We’re excited to provide an update on the playground renewal at Gunnamatta Park, Cronulla. We know this playground is well used and much loved and our renewal will ensure it’s more vibrant and inclusive, creating a space for families to enjoy for years to come.

We received lots of valuable feedback from our community in September-October last year as we planned for the playground upgrade. A proposed concept design has now been developed based on community feedback.

The proposed concept design includes:

  • A new coastal park playground focused on playful and natural materials
  • New play equipment in separate areas to cater for different age groups
  • Accessible play elements for inclusive play, including a harness seat, pod swing and an accessible see saw (rocker)
  • A loop path for children's bikes/scooters
  • Combination of soft fall and mulch surfaces
  • New amenities including picnic tables, seating and water bubblers
  • Natural sandstone blocks for seating and play
  • New garden beds, tree maintenance and landscaping.
