Gunnamatta Park Playground Renewal, Cronulla

We are excited to let you know that Council is planning to renew the playground at Gunnamatta Park, Cronulla. We know the playground at Gunnamatta Park is well used and much loved! We also know it could be more vibrant and inclusive, so many more families can enjoy it for years to come.

The project will improve the condition, safety and recreational qualities of the playground.

The opportunities include:

  • Renewal of playground equipment
  • Potential to increase range of play activities (within site constraints)
  • Renewal of soft-fall materials
  • Safety improvements within and around the playground
  • Improved seating and water station
  • Improved footpath access
  • Tree maintenance and landscaping to existing mature trees.

The area of Gunnamatta Park that is planned for upgrade is shown in our location map.

Have your say

We’re seeking feedback on how the area is currently used and what improvements would be best suited for the playground so we can ensure it meets the needs of our community.

You can provide feedback until 7 October 2025:

  • Online by completing the survey below
  • Email IPPTeam@ssc.nsw.gov.au
  • In writing to Infrastructure Project Planning, Sutherland Shire Council, Locked Bag 17, Sutherland 1499.

Next steps

Following community consultation, Council will review and consider all feedback received. We will then prepare a draft design for the playground. When the draft design is ready, we will share it with our community and seek feedback before it is finalised.

We expect work top start on the playground renewal in early 2027.

We will keep our community updated as the project progresses.
