Seymour Shaw Park - Youth Precinct and Open Space Upgrade

Consultation Period: 23 August to 15 September 2022

After extensive consultation with local community, sports and other user groups, Council adopted the Seymour Shaw Park Masterplan in late 2021.

We are excited to update the community about the long-awaited stage one of the Masterplan – the new youth precinct and open space upgrade being constructed in Miranda in 2023.

Council staff are working with design specialists Playce in consultation with local stakeholders to deliver the best possible recreation facility.

About the Youth Precinct and Open Space Upgrade

Scope of work for stage one will include:

  • New children’s playground
  • Two skate bowls of various depths
  • Plaza style skating concourse
  • Parkour activity elements
  • Half basketball court
  • Shaded rest and social areas
  • Lawn areas
  • New pathway network
  • Fencing
  • New carpark along Wandella Road

Next steps

Council will review and consider community feedback in finalising the design.

Construction is expected to start early 2023 and the precinct to open in the first half of 2023.
