Why was Seymour Shaw selected for the new Youth Precinct and Open Space Upgrade?

Community and Council were aware of demand for an active sports and youth facility in a centrally accessible area of Sutherland Shire.

Council secured grant funding from NSW State Government through the Department of Planning and Environment Planning Public Park Legacy Program to fund a public open space amenity for the benefit of the community.

Representatives from the local community, home-ground sports clubs, tennis, RSL and potential users from the skating community worked through 2021 to develop the Masterplan which was adopted by Council in November 2021.

Council contributed additional resources and funding to the planning, design, and construction of the Youth Precinct and Open Space Upgrade.
