Rawson Avenue and Old Princes Hwy Cycleway and Footpath Upgrade Masterplan

The first stage of this consultation has now concluded

An upgrade of Rawson Avenue's cycleway and footpath infrastructure is needed to improve the capacity, safety, accessibility and movement of cyclists, pedestrians and motor vehicles between the Sutherland town centre and regional recreational, educational and employment facilities along Rawson Ave.

The concept Masterplan has been developed in consultation with immediate key stakeholders. Its primary focus on pedestrian, cyclist and traffic safety is complimented by the plan’s aim to maintain the cultural heritage significance of the avenue of trees along Rawson Avenue.

Council invites and welcomes your feedback on the concept Masterplan. The responses will inform a review of the plan from which detailed design will be undertaken and construction commenced in 2016/17. The cost of the upgrade is estimated at $2.5million and is part funded by RMS grants under the Active Transport Connecting Centres – Infrastructure Program.
