We are excited to let you know that work on the new community park at Oak Road, Kirrawee will start in the coming months.
Following community consultation on the concept design for the new park in March/ April last year, we also asked for feedback on potential names for the park. We received strong support for an Indigenous name.
The name 'Yumbayumba Park' has been proposed, in consultation with key stakeholders. Yumbayumba means Sulphur Crested or White Cockatoo in Dharawal language — reflecting local fauna in the Kirrawee area.
