New park at Oak Road, Kirrawee - Concept design and park name
Consultation period: 26 March to 23 April 2021
We are excited to announce the next stage for a new community park at Oak Road in Kirrawee.
Council purchased residential land in 2019 using development contributions and will transform it into a new park to be enjoyed by our Kirrawee community.
We consulted with the community about how you would like to use a new community park for recreational activities in March - April 2020. Your feedback now forms part of our concept plan for the area.
The concept plan for the new park includes:
Seating
Shade
A walking track
Trees
Fitness equipment - for exercise and play
Multi-purpose area - allocation for potential community use (eg. community garden or similar).
Have your say
We are seeking your feedback on this exciting project to ensure the proposed plan meets the needs of the community.
We are also seeking early feedback on potential names for the new park.
Feedback can be submitted and suggestions for the park name until 23 April 2021:
Online by taking the survey below
In writing to Asset Services, Sutherland Shire Council, Locked Bag 17, Sutherland 1499.
Next steps
Following community feedback on the concept design, Council will consolidate and come back to the community with a finalised design for the park. It is expected that work will start on the new park for Oak Road in late 2021/early 2022.
Suggestions for the name of the new park will be reviewed and considered by Council. We will update the community on the outcome.
