All-abilities Playground Waratah Park Sutherland

child jumping in playground

Consultation Period: Friday 22 October to Friday 19 November 2021

Council is eager to get feedback from the community about what you want for a new proposed all-abilities playground at Waratah Park Sutherland.

Background

Council is committed to providing a high quality of life for our community and future generations through initiatives such as its Open Space and Play Strategies.

Waratah Park is a 22 ha sports and recreation reserve in Sutherland which includes the leisure centre and basketball stadium. The park is an important sports precinct, environmental corridor and part of the historic link between Sutherland CBD, the train station and the royal national park.

The first stage of the Waratah Park Masterplan is to find out what the community is looking for in an all-abilities playground by surveying parents, carers, children and other stakeholders.

Proposed all-abilities Playground

Please have a look at the feedback form, provide information and rank the play equipment to help Council deliver the best outcome for you and the wider community. Your feedback is important for Council to design the proposed all-abilities playground, in particular:

  • How Waratah Park is visited or used today.
  • What kind of play themes our community would like to see.
  • Which equipment children prefer to use.
  • Any creative ideas for consideration for the future.

Have your say

Feedback can be submitted:

  • Online via the form below
  • In writing to Asset Services, Sutherland Shire Council, Locked Bag 17, Sutherland 1499.
  • Email to Asset Services unit at ssc@ssc.gov.au

Find out more

Further consultation will be carried out with the community as we develop the stages of the Masterplan and any proposed improvements to the area. For more information contact our Asset Services unit on 02 9710 0333.
