Planning for a Special Entertainment Precinct, Cronulla

Promoting a thriving, vibrant and safe night-time economy

Council is investigating opportunities to implement a Special Entertainment Precinct (SEP) in Cronulla. This proposal supports a long-term vision for a thriving, vibrant and safe night-time economy in Cronulla Town Centre.

SEP’s are part of the NSW Government’s Vibrancy Reforms which have been established to boost night-time economy, live music and dining across the state.

A Special Entertainment Precinct allows for noise levels and hours of operation for live music to be set for an area by a Precinct Management Plan. It can include:

  • An additional hour of trading for hospitality venues that host live entertainment
  • Allowance for amplified sound that is regulated via a precinct management plan
  • The ability for businesses to host small-scale artistic and cultural events without the need for a Development Application
  • Approval for later outdoor dining.

Have your say

We are seeking feedback from our community as we explore opportunities for a SEP in Cronulla. We want to understand your thoughts for a thriving night-time economy and what areas, hours and sound levels should be considered.
