Why is the Sandy Point Boat Ramp being upgraded?
The condition of the existing boat ramp needs attention to assure safe access to and from the Georges River.

Will the upgrade require some dredging of silt and mud? If so, to what extent?
Yes. Notification will be provided to local community members in advance of any dredging activity. Details of the extent will depend on consultation outcomes in relation to whether the community accepts plans to include a pontoon, or not. Any disturbance to the community or surroundings will be minimal.
Why is a pontoon being included with the boat ramp upgrade?
Inclusion of a pontoon will make getting into, and getting out of, the water easier. People will not need to walk along a slippery ramp to get into their boat.
When is the project expected to start and finish?
Following public consultation, it's expected that construction will commence in Autumn 2022 and be finished in August 2022.
