Council has drafted a new Councillor Induction and Professional Development Policy. This policy ensures that the Mayor and Councillors receive appropriate induction and ongoing professional development to support them in carrying out their roles and responsibilities.
Child Safe Organisation Policy Review
Council has reviewed and updated its Child Safe Organisation Policy. The Policy reinforces Council’s commitment to creating a safe environment for children by adopting procedures and practices that align with Child Safe Standards.
Key updates to the Child Safe Organisation Policy include:
Addition of two schedules
Updated recruitment and induction process
Risk management strategies reflecting child safe elements
Record keeping and photography consent
Training requirements for all staff and elected officials
