Planning for Tennis Facilities
Council is reviewing the tennis facilities in Sutherland Shire to make sure we can cater for the future needs of the sport and plan for the increasing demand for parks and open space in our community.
The review will include 17 sites with tennis facilities across Sutherland Shire, as shown in the map.
Council is committed to providing our community with opportunities to stay active and enjoy the outdoors. Council adopted a Sport Strategy and Implementation Plan in 2022 to deliver on this commitment. A tennis review is one of the key priorities in the Strategy.
The Plan will:
- review the performance of Council-owned tennis facilities
- provide a consistent and improved approach to the management of tennis facilities
- guide decision-making for asset development and improvements in line with future population needs
- prioritise the recommendations into short, medium and long-term actions to be implemented over the next 10 years.
