Planning for our Future - Miranda Centre Plan
The health and vitality of Sutherland Shire’s centres are critical for the local economy and the convenience and lifestyle of our residents. As well as providing local shops and services, centres create opportunities for local jobs and housing close to public transport. Local centres are also important in creating opportunities for people to connect. As Sutherland Shire continues to grow and change so will the role of our centres.
Centre Plans
Council is developing centre plans to make sure our centres provide the right opportunities for our community as our needs evolve over time. Initially, we will focus on three centres:
- Caringbah
- Miranda
- Sutherland/Kirrawee.
To ensure centres cater for the current and future needs of the community a planned approach for their revitalisation is important. When finalised, these plans will provide the framework for improvements to public spaces and future planning controls.
