Policy adopted

Thank you for providing feedback on our Outdoor Dining Policy and Schedules Review.

We are pleased to advise you that the Policy was adopted by Council in August 2024. The final Policy is now available on our website here.

Following review of the feedback received, some amendments were made to the draft Policy. This included:

• support of furniture colour themes to create a vibrant and visually appealing environment and compliment the surrounding public domain
• removal of umbrella shape requirements.

The review of Council’s Outdoor Dining Policy has allowed for more detailed information around standards and expectations, to guide businesses who wish to provide outdoor dining in association with a food and drink premises. It will also ensure a well-managed footway to promote equitable access and support local business, by creating places where people want to stay and enjoy.
