Improvements to Old School Park, Gymea Bay

Consultation period: 16 August to 6 September 2021

Council is planning to improve the playground and facilities at Old School Park, Gymea Bay. The improvements aim to provide a mix of equipment types catering for a variety of ages to enjoy an active lifestyle.

The upgrade opportunities include:

  • Renewal of the existing playground
  • Increase the range of play equipment catering to a wider range of ages
  • Refurbishment or renewal of the existing shelter
  • Renewal of furniture
  • Improve connectivity to the bushland (with signage and pathways)
  • Native planting
  • Upgrade toilet amenities (planned for 2022 and will be completed as a separate project).

Next steps

Following community feedback, Council will prepare a concept design for the park and we will advise the community of the finalised design. It is expected that work will start at Old School Park, Gymea Bay by mid 2022.
