Revised scheme proposed

Based on community feedback and the independent review, a staged approach to traffic calming is proposed.

This will involve:

  • Edge line-markings on both sides of Loftus Avenue and Wheatley Road
  • Visual speed checking devices
  • Minor devices such as kerb blister, refuge island and right turn bay

These measures aim to reduce the speed profile of the road, while being less impactful to motorists and adjoining residents.

Council will continue to monitor road safety data. Depending on the success of these measures, other traffic calming devices (such as oval thresholds) may be required in future.

Work is planned to start in July 2024.
