Council has prepared a Concept Design for passive recreation improvements at Prices Circuit Reserve. The proposed upgrades focus on improving accessibility, pathways, seating, picnic facilities and connections, while retaining the existing tree canopy and natural character of the reserve.

Council has undertaken three rounds of community consultation between 2024 and 2025 to understand how Prices Circuit Reserve should be used and what improvements the community would like to see. Consultation explored options for a playground as well as broader opportunities for the reserve. Across all stages, feedback showed a clear shift in community preference away from a playground, with most respondents supporting the reserve being used for passive recreation and inclusive, all-ages, all-abilities use  Please see here for further details on consultation outcomes.

No trees will be removed as part of the proposed work. A detailed Tree Assessment Report recommended that removal of dead wood to be carried out on some trees within the area. Additionally, a proactive tree inspection program would be implemented if upgrades to the reserve go ahead.The proposed work has been designed to avoid tree root zones in order to protect the existing trees.

The Concept Design focuses on passive recreation. This includes low‑impact activities such as walking, sitting and picnicking. There is no playground or active recreation infrastructure proposed.

Accessibility is a key objective of the project. The proposed work includes improved pathways, an accessible ramp from the carpark, additional seating and accessible drinking fountains to support people of all ages and abilities.

We are proposing to change two of the existing parking spaces to an accessible parking bay. We are also planning to better connect the existing carpark to the reserve through an accessible ramp and pathways.
