What is a Masterplan?
A Masterplan is a planning document that helps Council establish the future vision for the reserve, prioritise and coordinate future work and forecast budget allocations. This ensures the reserve meets the needs of the community.
What are the next steps?
Following this consultation, Council will review the feedback received and prepare a draft Masterplan. The draft Masterplan will identify a vision along with short, medium- and long-term goals.
When will work start at Gymea Bay Baths Reserve?
Community feedback received will be reviewed and considered. The draft Masterplan may be further refined based on this feedback.
It is anticipated that the final Masterplan will be reported to Council later this year for final adoption. Following this, the Masterplan improvements will be delivered in a staged approach.
What if I have concerns that aren’t addressed in the Masterplan?
The Masterplan is a long-term land use planning document that focusses on space allocation. Immediate concerns for the site and any ongoing operational issues can be directed to Council.
What about water quality in the bay?
Council is continuing its advocacy to the state government bodies that look after our waterways, and will collaborate with other government authorities to prepare a coastal management program for the wider Port Hacking that will address concerns for our waterways holistically.
