What is a Masterplan?

Is there already a Masterplan for Gunnamatta Park or Tonkin Oval?
A Masterplan is a long-term planning document that must be reviewed over time to ensure our spaces continue to meet the needs of our community and to explore new opportunities for improved recreation. Previous plans for the area are now due for review.
Is Gunnamatta Pavilion part of this planning?
Gunnamatta Pavilion is not part of the improvements for the Gunnamatta Park-Tonkin Oval Precinct. It is a key part of this area and due to its heritage listing, it is being considered for improvements as part of a separate scope of work.
The community was recently asked to provide feedback on this space. You can find more information here.
What does heritage listing mean for Gunnamatta Park?
Gunnamatta Park and a number of the features within it are heritage listed which reflects the significant value to the community. Council must plan to conserve and enhance the character of the park in keeping with its heritage.
Why is the connecting walkway included in the Recreation Zone for the area?
The connecting walkway is part of this recreation area as it connects the two locations – Gunnamatta Park and Tonkin Oval - and is highly used by our community.
