Planning for Gunnamatta Pavilion, Cronulla

Gunnamatta Pavilion is a much-loved community venue in the Sutherland Shire and a feature of Gunnamatta Park, Cronulla. The Pavilion was built in 1939 and the original parts of the building are heritage listed. Gunnamatta Pavilion is currently used by multiple community groups and is regularly hired for general use.

Council is looking at ways to improve how the space is used now and for the future, while maintaining the heritage features of the building.

The wider area of Gunnamatta Park, which includes the amphitheatre and swimming baths, is also being considered for improvements.

As we start this planning process, we are after feedback from our community on how you use Gunnamatta Pavilion and Gunnamatta Park as well as your thoughts on how the space could be improved for future use of the community.

Next steps

Following community feedback, Council will prepare a draft design for improvements to Gunnamatta Pavilion. We will also start planning a draft Masterplan for the wider Gunnamatta Park area. The draft designs will then be available for community review and feedback before they are finalised.
