Draft Economic Development Strategy 2026-2031
We’ve developed a draft five-year Economic Development Strategy to help ensure the Sutherland Shire continues to thrive. The strategy responds to the many significant economic changes we’ve all experienced in recent years and sets out our plans to strengthen our local economy for the future.
The draft has been informed by input from businesses and key stakeholders, community feedback and a detailed assessment of our current economic environment. We thank everyone who participated and provided feedback, your insights have shaped our plans. You can read the consultation results here.
The draft Economic Development Strategy sets a clear and future focused direction for the Sutherland Shire’s economic future. It outlines priorities that strengthen our local economy and support sustainable growth that reflect community needs. The Strategy is built around four key focus areas:
- Distinctive places and experiences
- Productive and future focused economy
- Health, active and inclusive communities
- Capable people and connected economy.
