1. Why is Council reviewing this?
Council is required to review and adopt its Code of Meeting Practice within 12 months of an ordinary election.
The Code contributes to the delivery of Our Community Plan - Outcome 1 “A community informed and engaged in its future”
2. How does this benefit the community?
A Community Survey conducted in 2021, identified that our community wants better clarity, accessibility and timeliness of Council decisions.
The Code of Meeting Practice assists Councillors and staff to increase Council’s professionalism, transparency and accountability to the community.
