Draft Bike Plan 2024-2033: Shaping the Future of Cycling in Our Community
Ride with us on the journey to a more liveable, productive, and sustainable Sutherland Shire.
We’re excited to share our Draft 10-Year Bike Plan, a vision for making cycling safer and more convenient for everyone in our community, from families to experienced riders.
From healthier lifestyles to reduced car congestion, cycling offers many advantages, especially for short local trips.
This plan focuses on the infrastructure and community programs needed to boost cycling activity over the next decade.
As a starting point, Council has prepared a draft Future Cycling Network which building on existing infrastructure, aims to:
- Create convenient neighbourhood connections and safer routes to schools
- Connect gaps in our existing network of bike paths with new on-road and off-road cycleways
- Improve end of trip facilities like bike parking, showers, lockers, lighting and shade.
