Community Gardens Policy Review

Consultation has concluded

Consultation period: 4 July to 1 August 2023

Council has reviewed and updated our Community Gardens Policy. The purpose of this Policy is to ensure that equitable, consistent and transparent practices are in place for the planning, establishment, management and operation of Community Gardens in the Sutherland Shire.

Community Gardens positively contribute to the wellbeing, social, environmental and cultural strength of the community. In the Sutherland Shire we have several community gardens situated on land owned by Council, providing a wonderful opportunity to meet like-minded people and share gardening information.

Community groups that have formed an incorporated association can enter into a licence agreement with Council to run a community garden.
