Planning for Active and Public Transport Strategies

Consultation period: Monday 8 November to 6 December 2021

Council is developing Active Transport and Public Transport strategies. The two strategies will establish a framework and include clear recommendations to reflect the evolving demands and requirements for active (walking and cycling) and public transport in the Sutherland Shire.

The objectives of Active Transport Strategy:

• Increase the current active transport mode share of all daily trips taken across Sutherland Shire by 25% by 2030
• A safe, connected, accessible active transport network

The objectives of Public Transport Strategy:

• Increase the current public transport mode share of all daily trips taken across the Sutherland Shire by 35% by 2030
• An improved public transport customer experience
