What happens next?
The insights and feedback you shared has been passed on to local youth services, including Project youth and headspace Miranda, to inform their planning and services.
The results have also been shared with Council's Youth Reference Group. Together with Council staff they have analysed trends and key concerns raised by young people aged 12-25 years, to come up with a list of priority areas to investigate further. These include:
- School study support/homework support. Increased collaboration with libraries (eg. through 'hour of power' study support, youth to youth mentoring and book club initiatives)
- Mental Health/Wellbeing initiatives, working closely with SSO’s and providing education and support for caregivers
- Vaping education and awareness
- LGBTIQA+ support and recognition
- Social connection opportunities including diverse events to address social isolation among young people
The results of the 2022 Youth Survey will inform Council's ongoing strategic planning for youth programs and events for the year ahead.

We chatted to Zena outside Council, here's what she had to say...
"I love living in the Shire, I have lived here my whole life. I live an active lifestyle and love encouraging my friends to come for a visit. I filled in the survey because I wanted to contribute my opinion."
