Draft Voluntary Planning Agreement – 67 Gerrale Street, Cronulla

Council is seeking feedback about a draft Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) created in association with a development at 67 Gerrale Street, Cronulla.

The development is being completed by South Cronulla Property Group Unit Trust as approved under Development Application DA22/0419. The development includes the demolition of existing structures and construction of a mixed-use residential building on the site, in a staged approach. The development is currently under construction.

The VPA proposes to:

  • Relocate the substation from Beach Park Avenue to the basement of the new building on site at 67 Gerrale Street
  • Provide public domain improvements along Beach Park Avenue, between Surf Lane and Gerrale Street, with new paving, planting and outdoor dining opportunities
  • Pedestrian crossing upgrade on Surf Lane to meet current standards and better alignment.
  • Relocate the sculpture from Beach Park Avenue to Ocean Grove.

These changes offer the following public benefits:

  • Creating a high quality and active streetscape, including outdoor dining, along Beach Park Avenue
  • Deliver a modern and safe pedestrian link from Cronulla station to Cronulla Beach.
