Exhibition of Planning Proposal - Refresh Sutherland Shire Local Environmental Plan 2015 (SSLEP2015)

Consultation has concluded


Consultation period extended: 1 June to 28 July 2021

On 14th December 2020 Council resolved to support the exhibition of a planning proposal which seeks to amend the Sutherland Shire Local Environmental Plan 2015 (SSLEP2015) (Council report PLN051-20).

The proposal aligns the plan with policy directions of the Sutherland Shire Local Strategic Planning Statement and makes other minor amendments.


What's changing?

The planning proposal will:

  • Give statutory effect to the Sutherland Shire Green Grid
  • Facilitate the ANSTO Innovation Precinct by amending the site-specific purpose identified on the zoning map
  • Rezone land to facilitate a land swap agreement at Geebung Lane, Engadine
  • Introduce an 800m2 minimum lot size requirement for Boarding houses in the R2 zone
  • Rezone a new Council reserve at 168 Oak Road, Kirrawee
  • Correct a zoning anomaly on a portion of the land at 1 Rosebery Street, Heathcote
  • Retain more vegetation in the E4 Environmental Living zone
  • Enable further minor changes relating to specific sites or the operation of plan provisions

What happens next?

The proposal and all feedback submissions will be considered by Council once the consultation closes. If the proposal is considered to have merit and supported by Council, it will be forwarded to the State Government to be finalised.
