The Planning Proposal for 153R Gannons Road - Wattlebird Bushland Reserve seeks to amend SSLEP2015 and rezone 153E Gannons Road from R2 Low Density Residential to E2 Environmental Conservation, for the purpose of open space. The land will extend the Wattlebird Bushland Reserve.

153R Gannons Road was generously gifted to Council by the previous owner of the land. On 18 June 2018, Council resolved (PLN036-18), to prepare a Planning Proposal to amend the Sutherland Shire Local Environmental Plan (SSLEP2015). On 21/05/2019 (SSLPP025-19) the Planning Proposal was referred to the Local Planning Panel who recommended the land be zoned E2 Environmental Conservation, consistent with the adjoining land. On the 1 July 2019 Council concurred and resolved (PLN023-19) to proceed with the rezoning.

The planning proposal and supporting documents are on public exhibition from 2 October until 30 October 2019.
