Proposal to name lookout at Wanda Beach, “Don Dobie Memorial Lookout”

Consultation has concluded

Council has resolved to undertake community consultation to name the lookout at Wanda Beach located at 2R-24R Mitchell Road, Cronulla “Don Dobie Memorial Lookout”. The lookout does not currently have an assigned name. The name “Don Dobie Memorial Lookout” has been proposed to recognise the contributions of the late The Hon. James Donald Mathieson “Don” Dobie (28.7.1927 – 25.11.1996). The Hon. Don Dobie was a member of the Australian Parliament between 1966 and 1996 and was renowned for his attendance at community functions and events.
