Public Art Policy Review

Consultation has concluded

Consultation period: Friday 10 May – Thursday 6 June 2024.

We have reviewed and updated our Public Art Policy.

The Policy supports our vision for a culturally rich and vibrant community. It recognises the important role of public art in engaging the community, creating a sense of place and enhancing the liveability of our region.

The purpose of this Policy is to:

  • Inform the strategy for a new Public Art Plan which will identify the key themes and priorities for 2022-2032
  • Provide a transparent framework to manage art submissions
  • Enable an independent and equitable process
  • Ensure a high standard of public art
  • Formalise management of Council art assets.

Have your say

We are seeking feedback from our community on our Public Art Policy.

You can share your feedback until 6 June 2024:

  • online by taking the survey below
  • email to hazelhurst@ssc.nsw.gov.au
  • in writing to Arts and Libraries, Sutherland Shire Council, Locked Bag 17, Sutherland 1499.

Next steps

Following community consultation, Council will review and consider all feedback. Some changes may be made to the policy. It will then be finalised and reported to Council for adoption. We will keep interested members of the community updated.
