Playground - Sylvania North

Consultation period: 12 August to 9 September 2022

The playground at Sylvania Road North Reserve, Sylvania is due for renewal. We understand the site is small and steep and are reviewing the suitability of this location.

Webber Street Reserve, Sylvania is being considered as the proposed new location as it is centrally located, well-suited for a local playground and is in close walking distance to many residents. Webber Street Reserve can also be easily accessed from the current site at Sylvania Road by a nearby laneway.

Council is proposing to relocate the playground at Sylvania Road North Reserve and replace it with a new playground at Webber Street Reserve, Sylvania.

The proposed changes include:

• Re-locating the playground from Sylvania Road North Reserve to Webber Street Reserve, Sylvania
• Building a new local playground at Webber Street Reserve with an increased range of play equipment (including climbing, sliding and swinging elements)
• Decommissioning the existing playground at Sylvania North Reserve and restoring the area.

Next steps

Following community feedback, Council will prepare final designs for the playground and keep our community updated of progress. It is expected that work will start at on the relocated playground during 2023.
