Planning for The Ridge Sporting Complex and Parc Menai
Council is preparing a master plan for The Ridge Sporting Complex and Parc Menai. The master plan is a design vision that identifies short, medium and long-term priorities for improvements at these sites.
The multi-sport facility at The Ridge Sporting Complex consists of sporting fields, netball courts, athletics track, golf course, driving range, pump track and off-leash dog park. The recreation space at Parc Menai features play equipment, open space, walking track, skate park, basketball half-court and an ANZAC memorial. The two sites are being considered as a precinct under one master plan to ensure a coordinated and consistent approach to recreation planning within the Barden Ridge / Menai area.
What's being explored
The master plan will align with Council’s strategies and continue to support and strengthen Sutherland Shire’s participation and involvement in sport and recreational activities. It aims to identify opportunities to optimise existing spaces, improve supporting infrastructure, and ensure these sites can accommodate future demand across a range of activities. The opportunities being explored include:
optimising field usage and sporting infrastructure at The Ridge, including improved field layouts, servicing, facilities and scheduling capacity
increasing flexibility of the recreational spaces at The Ridge and Parc Menai
improving the functionality of Parc Menai for community gatherings and events.
