Planning Proposal for 117-131 Taren Point Road, Taren Point

Consultation period: 11 November - 15 December 2025

The proponent-initiated planning proposal for 117-131 Taren Point Road, Taren Point seeks to amend the Sutherland Shire Local Environmental Plan 2015 (SSLEP 2015) to add an “Additional Permitted Use” in the form of specialised retail premises.

The Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure granted approval on 30 September 2025 for Council to proceed to public exhibition.

The proposed site is approximately 14,342 sqm and is currently zoned as E4 General Industrial. It is located on the western side of Taren Point Road.

The Planning Proposal will align future development and use on the subject site with businesses on the eastern side of Taren Point Road, which are zoned E3 Productivity Support, allowing for specialised retail premises.

Any future development on the site will be initiated by the landowner and will be subject to the development assessment process.

The amendment will allow for more flexibility and delivery of specialised retail premises on the site.
