Planning for Friendship Place Reserve, Illawong

We're exploring including an off-leash dog park at Friendship Place Reserve in Illawong, and we'd like to hear what you think.

Whether you're a dog owner, a regular park user, live nearby, or simply care about local open spaces, your feedback will help us understand how the reserve is used and what is most important to the community.

Have your say

Why Friendship Place?

The reserve offers open space and has previously been identified by both community and Council as a location worth exploring.

With a bushland buffer between residential properties and existing on-street parking, the area meets criteria for an off-leash dog park.

Please see our location map and FAQs for more information on the site and our investigations so far.

What could a dog park provide?

Off-leash dog parks can offer a dedicated space where dogs can run, play and socialise off-lead. They can also create opportunities for people to connect with others, spend time outdoors and enjoy local open spaces.

This consultation will help Council understand whether the site is suitable for an off-leash dog park, what it could look like, and how this may impact current and future users of the reserve.
