Planning for a new park in Caringbah Town Centre

New park concept

We’re excited to announce that a new community park is being planned for the Caringbah Town Centre at the corner of Willarong Road and the Kingsway, Caringbah.

Council purchased the residential land at 155 and 157 Willarong Road in 2022 using developer contributions and will transform it into a new park to be enjoyed by our Caringbah community.

The area that is being planned for the new park is shown in our location map.

We know that the population of Caringbah will increase over the next decade and beyond. A new park will support the character and life of our growing community, and will provide access to walkable, inclusive open space and informal recreation within a short stroll of many homes in Caringbah.

A new park will allow opportunities for:

  • Additional open space in Caringbah
  • Improved footpath and connections to key transport routes
  • A local ground or play space
  • Seating, tables and water bubbler
  • Bike rack and maintenance station
  • Improved amenity and landscaping.

Have your say

We’re seeking community feedback on how you'd like to use the park for recreational activities to help us prepare plans for this exciting new space, and ensure it meets the needs of our community.

You can provide feedback until Monday 7 April 2025:

  • Online via our survey below or sharing your ideas of favourite parks in the ideas board
  • In person at our Community Information Stall at Caringbah Rotary Markets on Sunday, 30 March from 8am-1pm (Carpark behind McDonalds, entry via The Kingsway) - Markets CANCELLED (due to threat of high winds).
  • Email to the Infrastructure Project Planning Team: IPPTeam@ssc.nsw.gov.au
  • In writing to Infrastructure Project Planning Team, Sutherland Shire Council, Locked Bag 17, Sutherland 1499.

Next steps

Council will review and consider all feedback received. Your suggestions will help inform the development of a draft design for the new park. When a draft design is finalised, we will make this available to the community and seek further feedback. We expect this will be late 2025.
