Naming Proposal for Lookout at Wanda Beach: Bobby Brown Memorial Lookout
Consultation has concluded
Council has resolved to undertake community consultation to name the lookout at Wanda Beach located at 2R-24R Mitchell Road, Cronulla the “Bobby Brown Memorial Lookout”. The lookout that is used as a surf observation deck or viewing platform does not currently have an official name.
This consultation follows a previous naming proposal for this lookout which was rejected.
The proposed name aims to recognise the contributions of the late Robert “Bobby” Brown, a local Cronulla resident and renowned surfer who won the NSW Open and Sydney Branch Surfboard Riding titles in the 1960s and was a member of Wanda Surf Life Saving Club.
