Planning for Heathcote Oval

Consultation period: 18 October to 12 November 2021

Heathcote Oval is a key recreational area for the Sutherland Shire, surrounded by the Royal National Park. Council is looking at ways to improve how the space is used and provide better opportunities for recreation. The improvements aim to support active lifestyles now and in the future.

Council consulted with the community in early 2021 regarding three possible locations for an off-leash dog park in the Engadine and Heathcote area. The community supported an off-leash dog park in the area and Heathcote Oval has been selected as the preferred location.

Council is preparing a draft Masterplan to set the future vision for Heathcote Oval and the opportunities for improved recreation.

Next steps

Following community feedback, Council will prepare a draft Masterplan for Heathcote Oval. The draft Masterplan will then be available for community review and feedback early in 2022.
