Crown Reserves Draft Generic Plan of Management

We have prepared a draft Generic Plan of Management to guide the use and management of Crown Reserves in the Sutherland Shire. The Plan covers parks, sportsgrounds, general community use areas and natural assets.

There are 86 Crown Reserves in the Sutherland Shire where Council is the Crown Land Manager. This Plan of Management outlines our approach to managing 78 of these reserves. Management of the remaining Crown Reserves will be covered under site-specific plans of management.

The aims of the Generic Plan of Management:

  • Comply with the Local Government Act 1993 and the Crown Land Management Act 2016
  • Contribute to our broader strategic vision and goals of the Community Strategic Plan
  • Provide clarity in the future development, use and management of community land
  • Ensure consistent management that supports a unified approach, meeting the needs of our community.
