Draft Councillors' Expenses and Facilities Policy

Consultation period: 16 February to 16 March 2022

Council has drafted a policy for Councillors' Expenses and Facilities. The purpose of the policy is to ensure that Councillors receive adequate and reasonable resources to enable them to carry out their civic duties. It ensures that these are provided in an accountable and transparent manner.

This Policy ensures:

• There is accountability and transparency in the reasonable and appropriate reimbursement of expenses incurred or to be incurred by Councillors and in the use of Council assets and facilities in the course of the undertaking of their civic responsibilities
• The community is informed of the use of Council’s funds and assets
• Council complies with legislative and regulatory requirements.
