Draft Risk Management Policy and Schedules Review
Consultation period: 3 August - 30 August 2026
Council has reviewed and updated the draft Risk Management Policy and Schedules.
The purpose of this Policy is to outline Council’s commitment to consistent and effective risk management across all planning, decision making and operational activities. Council seeks to actively understand and manage its risk profile to prevent harm, minimise disruption and loss, protect its reputation, and support responsible decision-making.
The draft Policy has been refreshed to ensure Council continues to apply clear, consistent and contemporary risk management practices across planning, projects and everyday operations.
Supporting Schedules to the Policy include:
• The Risk Appetite Statement which outlines the level of risk Council is prepared to accept when making decisions for consistency and alignment with Council’s values
• The Enterprise Risk Management Framework which has been updated to align with the revised draft Policy and Risk Appetite Statement and to strengthen how risk management is embedded across the organisation.
