Local Housing Strategy adopted

Thank you for your recent input into Council's draft Local Housing Strategy 2041.

All feedback was reviewed and considered by Council. The Local Housing Strategy was adopted by Council on 21 July 2025. The final Strategy is now available on our website.

This plan was shaped by community feedback. People said they want housing that meets different needs and keeps the area’s natural beauty.

Our next steps will be to develop Place Plans to put the Local Housing Strategy 2041 and Affordable Housing Contribution Scheme into action. These plans are being prepared for Miranda and Sutherland-Kirrawee centres, and later for Cronulla, Engadine, Caringbah, and other centres in the Sutherland Shire will follow.
