Draft Enterprise Risk Management Policy

Consultation period: 5 April to 3 May 2022

Council has developed a new draft Enterprise Risk Management Policy to ensure we consistently assess and effectively manage risks across the organisation.

The draft policy aims to strike a balance between what risks we will accept, resist and avoid in relation to each of these risk categories:

  1. Financial & Assets
  2. WHS/ Employee Safety
  3. Environmental
  4. Reputation
  5. Legal /Liability
  6. Service Delivery
  7. Community / Wellbeing & Safety
  8. Information, Security and Technology.

The draft policy includes an Enterprise Risk Management Framework, a Risk Appetite Statement and Risk Assessment Matrix.

By assessing and managing risks associated with delivery of its Community Strategic Plan, Council will be better placed to achieve its commitment to the community.

Once adopted, this policy will be integrated into all Council's planning, decision making and operational processes.
