Climate Strategy 2050 adopted

Thank you for your recent input into Council's draft Climate Strategy 2050 - Thrive. Design. Lead.

All feedback was reviewed and considered by Council. The Climate Strategy was adopted by Council on 21 July 2025. The final Strategy is now available on our website(External link).

Council will now be working on the implementation of the actions identified in the Strategy. In the first year this includes:

• A community sustainable living education program - encouraging social and equitable emissions reduction activities through energy efficiency, renewable energy, sustainable transport, circular economy
• Drafting an Electric Vehicle Position Paper
• Develop and implement Council’s Fleet Transition Plan.

You will hear more from Council as we deliver on and implement these actions.
