Cybersecurity Policy Review

Consultation period: 29 June - 26 July 2026


Council is committed to protecting the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of its information assets through a risk-based approach aligned with the Cyber Security Guidelines - Local Government.

Council’s Cybersecurity Policy was last adopted in July 2022. As part of the regular policy review cycle, the Policy has been updated to reflect the latest Local Government Cybersecurity Guidelines and to support Council’s ongoing commitment to effective cybersecurity management.


Key revisions to the Policy include:

  • alignment with Cyber Security Guidelines – Local Government

  • introduced clear principles of Council’s commitment to safeguarding and protecting

  • improved visibility of key control areas

  • inclusion of updated terms, meanings and responsibilities.

Next steps:

Following community consultation, Council will review and consider all feedback. Some changes may be made to the Policy. It will then be finalised and reported to Council for adoption. We will keep interested members of the community updated.
